How to make matcha

 May 09 2022

Drinking Matcha is usually in the way of tea ceremony, which needs to follow a series of rules.
The traditional basic method is to put a small amount of Matcha into the tea bowl, then add a small amount of warm water (not boiling), and stir evenly by the bamboo whisk.

    Step1   Measure your matcha

Matcha is a powerhouse hailed for its antioxidant effects, along with its energizing, detoxifying and natural metabolism-booting properties.

Measure your matcha like a pro by using the TEANAGOO Matcha Spoon designed to help measure your green tea powder correctly to ensure a perfect cup every time.

Take the amount according to the thickness of Matcha you want or just scoop 2-3 spoons (approx. 1 teaspoon) of traditional matcha into a matcha bowl.

Step2   Add an appropriate amount of warm water

Water temperature is one of the most important variables in steeping a consistently bright and tasty cup of matcha.

Requirments for the temperature of water:
Keep it to a warm 75-85°C (170-185°F) so as to not burn your matcha powder and give it a bitter taste. Cooler water temp also means your matcha will froth up to that eye-catching jade colour.

Use cooler temp 75°C for traditional matcha and (85°C) for flavoured matcha.

Step3   Whisk to create froth

Sufficient stirring can make the taste of matcha more moist, smooth and delicious, and it is also a simple tasting method.

Briskly whisk your matcha in a "W" or an “M” formation going from the bottom of the bowl and working your way up towards the surface until the matcha reaches a smooth consistency and a layer of foam appears.

Repeat until you get that vibrant worthy froth.
